Rib boats sail off following successful auction in Dublin

Eight rib boats ranging from four to eight metres achieved over expectations at a recent Dublin auction.

Wilsons Auctions’ Dublin branch successfully auctioned eight rib boats of varying sizes recently having been instructed by two major government agencies to sell by public auction.

The engine-powered boats, which varied in sizes from four to eight metres, were approximately 10 years old and assisted the agencies when patrolling seas as well as being used for training and rescue exercises. As a result of upgrading the sale of the boats will help the agencies with this transition.

Following a successful marketing campaign through our website, social media and bespoke boating websites the auction proved very popular with not only 60,000 hits on the Facebook post alone but on the night, Dublin welcomed almost 300 people into the auction hall and the boats achieved a fantastic 166% over the agencies expectation of re-sale value. With online bidding also available there was interest from registered buyers worldwide including the United States and South Africa.

The boats were sold on the night alongside almost 70 vans and 50 cars and 4x4 vehicles, offering customers a diverse range of Lots.
